Bain Boeuf

A photo of me taken accidentally by my mother while she tried to figure out how my mobile phone camera works. She was meant to click only when I was already in place, but instead there are dozens of photos, a bit like a series of stills from a movie, so I think she just kept pressing on the button without realising.

The location is Bain Boeuf, in the north of Mauritius, Indian Ocean. The island behind me is Coin de Mire. To the right, outside the range of this photo, Round Island (Ile Ronde) and Flat Island (Ile Plate) can also be seen from Bain Boeuf. This is the last public beach from which all three islands can be seen. The viewpoints in Cap Malheureux are now all private. Bain Boeuf is very quiet because of the flat rocks that cover the beach - people don't come here to swim because it's not that sandy. As you can tell, however, Bain Boeuf is a lagoon.
