Done today because I needed to finish the henna cone. This is part of a complete sleeve which all in all took a couple of hours to do.

Time taken (for the hand): 45 mins

Definitely not. Wait till you smell it, and you will never want it within an inch of your mouth.

Do you buy it in a paste-form, or as a powder? I used to buy that powder-like thing and mix it with tea/wine.

In Mauritius it's so easy to get the paste, I just buy the paste. My mother uses the powder to put in her hair, though, she mixes it with tea and yogurt, I think.

Mixing it with tea should work fine, because the tea is faintly acidic and so would release the dye in the henna.

I don't use henna anymore to dye my hair, because it's almost impossible to find natural one here. :(

I gave my friend a pack of powder, label on it said "intensive red". My hair turned out mahagony red (which is great, that's the color I'm mostly trying to get), and she looks ginger-ish.

I wish I could post you some henna powder - my housemate got me some from Bahrain which I've never had the time to use, so I have a big pack somewhere in my room.

Aww. XD I had a friend who wanted to get auburn hair... and it turned bright orange. It was actually an amazing colour, but she was a bit horrified initially.

Completely in love with your designs, traditional yet unique. The mehndi lines look so thin, which is amazing. My henna comes out in blobs lol

haha ~ you need talent to make blobby mehndi look elegant, something I unfortunately don't have
narrower tips, I'll keep that in mind thanks =) x

I make the tips narrower to try to get the lines not so thick - although even blobby mehndi looks elegant. :giggle:

Bahaha one hour of that was while talking to my parents on Skype - which is time I would have been sitting there doing nothing but talking, anyway :B

Well, nowadays it's waiting for half an hour (because they sometimes ring =prosaix first) and then talking for half an hour. But I've been blessed with wonderful parents.

Tehehe. I tell them to ring him first because I don't like the thought of him waiting for me, but I have to admit that in terms of timing, for me, it doesn't work out well with having to wait. Whereas it seems he gets his dinner ready in the meantime, so it suits him to wait. :paranoid:
